Connect with your steadier self.

One-on-one care, group classes, and practical tools for restoring access to your body, your steadier self, and your choices under pressure.

I help people connect with their bodies, restore presence, work with pain and health patterns, regulate stress, and choose from their steadier self in the moments that matter.

Private practice is open. Code Calm book arrives July 22. Next class begins in August. Join the list.

Most people need more than symptom relief.

Pain, disrupted sleep, hormonal changes, digestive symptoms, emotional reactivity, and exhaustion are rarely isolated from the life being lived inside them.

This work meets both levels:
the body that needs care and the self that needs access.

The Entry Point.

1:1 In-Person Care

For people who want direct, individualized support.

We begin with a clear assessment of your symptoms, history, patterns, and goals. From there, we identify the most useful next step: virtual consultation, in-person treatment, Chinese medicine, bodywork, nervous system support, herbal guidance, or an integrated care plan.

Best for: pain, sleep, stress, hormones, digestion, recovery, complex patterns, and people who want a precise path forward.

1:1 Virtual Care

Hands-on care in San Francisco and Marin using acupuncture, bodywork, Chinese medicine, somatic nervous system support, and clinical pattern assessment.

These sessions are designed to help the body shift, not just temporarily relax.

Best for: pain, tension, nervous system dysregulation, injury recovery, stress-related symptoms, and whole-body recalibration.

The Class: Code Calm

A practical training in embodied self-leadership.

Code Calm teaches you how to stay present, clear, and choice-capable under pressure. You learn a simple return sequence for the moments when you lose access to yourself before your mind has caught up.

This is not a class about suppressing stress or performing calm.

It is training in becoming more trustworthy to yourself in conversation, conflict, urgency, uncertainty, and change.

Next class starts in August.

The Book

Code Calm

How to Stand Your Ground Without Losing Yourself

A practical guide for the moments when pressure narrows your access to perspective, timing, restraint, honesty, and choice. It is not a book about feeling better under stress. It is a book about regaining access to the self that can choose well under pressure.

The Method

How I work

I combine Chinese medicine, hands-on bodywork, clinical assessment, and nervous system regulation to create change that can be felt and used.

Care often unfolds in three layers:

Assessment

We identify the pattern beneath the symptoms.

Treatment

We apply the right intervention: acupuncture, bodywork, herbs, somatic support, therapeutic technologies, or guided regulation.

Reorientation

You learn practical tools that help improvement continue beyond the session.

The goal is not endless treatment.

The goal is greater access, better function, and a more trustworthy relationship with your own body and choices.

Clients often report:

less pain and tension
easier movement
deeper sleep
steadier energy
clearer focus
improved digestion and mood
shorter recovery after stress
more confidence in seeing what to do next
a clearer relationship with their body
less chasing, more direction

Dr. Giulietta Octavio, DACM, LAc

Dr. Giulietta Octavio is a clinician, educator, and creator of Code Calm, a practical method for embodied self-leadership under pressure. Licensed in California since 2002, she works at the intersection of Chinese medicine, somatic practice, nervous system regulation, and human behavior.

Her work helps people identify the pattern beneath the symptom, restore access to themselves, and make clearer choices in health, relationship, and daily life.

The Feedback. - “I came in overwhelmed. I left with relief and direction.”

What amazing care I have received from Dr. Octavio! She's healed me from several different injuries and ailments (car accidents, allergic reactions, muscle strain, viruses (pre-Corona) to name a few). Her treatments also support my emotional and mental well being (much of my issues are stress related). She listens and asks great questions so her treatments are thoughtful and effective to solving a variety of different issues. I never knew Acupuncture and non-Western medicine could help me so much and am grateful for her care. I am in a better, healthier place thanks to her.

Giulietta is an incredible healer and acupuncturist. I first met her through a friend a few years ago and have been going to her off and on since. She really listens to you and has a great memory for her clients. When I first came to her I'd been in a huge amount of pain from a wicked combination of stress and computer work. She had an immediate positive effect on me and has been a guiding light for my health since then. I can't recommend her highly enough.

  • Merci

Giulietta has been a total healing light in my life for the past 3 years. During the time that I've been in Giulietta's care, my allergies, digestion, and overall health have gotten dramatically better--in ways that I didn't even know they could, because I'd never felt that good before! I owe it all to Giulietta's perceptive, intuitive, and knowledgeable practice. Giulietta is the real deal.
